Laurence Cheung serves as the Managing Director of DHL Global Forwarding Vietnam, where he leads the company’s strategic initiatives and oversees its operations nationwide. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, Laurence brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the role, having been with DHL Global Forwarding for over 25 years.
He began his career with DHL in 1999 as a management trainee and rose through the ranks as a station manager in some of China’s biggest and fastest-growing cities like Chengdu, Hangzhou, Wuhan, and Xiamen before he became the General Manager of DHL Global Forwarding Beijing in 2008. He later advanced to become the Southeast District Head of China in 2013, where he was responsible for the regional operations and spearheaded business development for the region. In 2019, Laurence was appointed Managing Director for Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, before transitioning in 2022 to focus on the burgeoning Vietnamese market.
Recognized for his strong leadership and business acumen, Laurence brings a deep understanding of the logistics industry and sharp insights into the fast-growing regional opportunities—qualities that have played a pivotal role in driving performance and contributing to DHL’s success across Asia. A strong advocate of lifelong learning, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and earned his Master of Business Administration from the European School of
Management and Technology (ESMT Berlin) in 2025. He is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
