Dr. Tung Nguyen-Dang is the Director of Career and Industry
Engagement and an Assistant Professor of Materials at the College
of Engineering and Computer Science at VinUniversity in Hanoi,
Vietnam. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the Ecole
Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), a Master's degree
from a joint program in Paris, and a Diplôme d’Ingénieur from
Ecole Polytechnique in France.
With a background that bridges academia and industrial
application, Dr. Nguyen-Dang brings valuable expertise in
manufacturing and materials research. He previously worked as a
Research Engineer at Saint-Gobain Glass in France, where he studied mechanisms in large-scale magnetron sputtering. During his postdoctoral work at EPFL, he developed real-time fiber sensors for
monitoring polymer resin processing, a project involving collaboration with the Peugeot-Citroen group and the Hamlyn Research Center for Robotics Surgery. He also conducted advanced research in organic
electronics as an Otis Williams Research Fellow at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
He also serves as a Principal Investigator of research activities at VinUniversity, leading the NAFOSTED and VinIF funded programs on Functional Fibers via Thermal Drawing process and a flagship program on AI for Materials
